About

Two years in, one habit that's stuck: check the data before you trust it.

I'm Rakesh Roy, a freelance performance marketer. I help founders and business owners — especially in healthcare — spend their ad budget on campaigns they can actually explain to themselves, not just to their platform dashboard.

I got into digital marketing the way most people do now — curiosity first, formal training after. I completed a Digital Marketing with AI Certification from Webskitters Academy and Webskitters Technology Solutions Pvt. Ltd., and I'm still working through my bachelor's degree alongside client work, because I'd rather learn by running real campaigns than wait until everything's "finished."

My first real experience came at Bluconnet Media, then Tapvera Technologies, where I worked as a Digital Marketing Executive handling social media, Meta Ads setup, and client reporting. That's where I learned the unglamorous part of this job — the tracking, the reporting, the follow-through that most people skip.

Right now I work as a Digital Marketing Specialist handling branding at Nucleus Media & Advertising, where I run Meta Ads campaigns for healthcare clients — hospitals and wellness brands across Bihar and West Bengal. A lot of that work is Click-to-WhatsApp lead generation for hospitals running government health schemes like Ayushman Bharat, which means the targeting and the language both have to be right — there's no room for generic, translated ad copy when you're talking to a Hindi-speaking, Tier-2/3 city audience about their health.

Two years isn't a long time in this field. But it's been two years of actually running accounts — not just watching dashboards. I still check every report before I send it, still ask what a number actually means before I call it a win, and I plan on keeping that habit no matter how many years get added to it.

If you're looking for someone who'll tell you what's working honestly, even when it isn't flattering — that's the kind of marketer I'm trying to be.

02—How I work

Four things I won't compromise on.

Evidence over opinion

If we can't measure it, we don't claim it. I'd rather tell you a test failed than dress it up as a learning.

Fewer clients, deeper work

A capped roster is the only way one person can genuinely stay on top of an ad account. Scale is not the goal here.

Plain language reporting

Every report answers three things: what we spent, what it earned, and what I'm changing next. No vanity metrics.

Your account stays yours

I work inside your ad accounts, your analytics, your assets. If we part ways, everything and every learning stays with you.

03—Straight talk

We're probably not a fit if…

  • You want guaranteed results before anyone has seen the account
  • You need someone to execute a plan without questioning it
  • Ad spend is under ₹50,000/month and you need an ongoing retainer
  • Reporting needs to make the numbers look better than they are

If none of those apply, we’ll probably get on well.
